Influence by Ashley and Mary Kate Olsen

i got to check this book out last night and it's very delightful. i'm a sucker for scrapbook-like imagery that fuses fashion and art and people who truly "influence" others. the book has interviews and shines light on people like Andy Warhol, Karl Lagerfeld and Christian Loubitin just to name a few. the sisters even write a piece on how they admire and each other and their style. this book was fun to look through and makes me want to start a scrapbook of what has influenced me over the years.

even though the HL fragrance has been out for a little while now, promotions for the line are coming on strong. with four page ads in Teen Vogue and a free 'G' gift on facebook, it's making it hard to ignore. while i was at Barnes and Noble yesterday i sent a pic of the ad featured in TV with my sidek!ck like the ad said. i got an email with a link to the official HL fragrance site which offers a free sample, screen saver, and quiz. the screen saver is very cute and now i'm dying to se what these scents are all about. ok sooo, i got an IM from my friend Jenine with a link to this video. my eyes and stomach couldn't manage to watch the whole thing so i will let you know if you haven't watched it already that it's pretty graphic. the rapper in this video is claiming that M.I.A. has been putting subliminal messages in her rhymes, shows, etc. that a pro terrorism. i'm not too sure how true all of this is, but i must say it's pretty damn hard to not listen to. as much of a fan as i am you can't help but wonder if the accusations are somewhat true. now i'm not going to google anything like the rapper says to, but i just wanted to put this out there and see what you all think. if you have or haven't seen this already, please comment with your thoughts.

i remember reading that "Paper Planes" was about not being granted a visa to stay in the US or something along those lines. *sigh* i just can't deal with this right now.

L.C. and Heidi hug it out

isn't this pic so sweet? it was probably taken before Spencer came along.. but we definitely know it's before the nose and boob job. ANYWAYS, Lauren was at STK in L.A. for her fashion show after-party and Heidi was there with bf in tow. however she took the initiative to congratulate her former bff and the two were "crying and hugging" in the corner.

this is a really good sign of Heidi breaking away from Spencer's clutches. but i doubt those two will break up. all in all i hope the girls will be able to work things out because nothing is worse that losing a friend.

apparently the 'Hills' cameras weren't on for this reunion, but maybe a re-enactment is in the works.

Living: 'The Shining' at the Brooklyn Bridge
