Lady Gaga's New Viva Glam

Here's a look at Lady Gaga's new Viva Glam ad for MAC Cosmetics.  The line will be released in February and unlike her first Viva Glam roundabout, where her color was a Barbie-like baby pink, this line will contain a nude color.

It will be more wearable and it's a guarantee that this will generate a lot of sales for people living with AIDS/HIV.

H&M = Hits & Misses?

Yesterday the blogs were buzzing about H&M's new plus size line (pictured) that will be hitting stores very soon. For the full sized fashionista, this will be a great opportunity to grab great clothes at somewhat "affordable" prices. Websites were also spreading the word that the third largest retailer in the world will eventually expand their online store to American buyers. For people who don't live near an H&M, or just prefer shopping from the comfort of their own home, this will be a great boost to the chain's profits. Especially since reports surfaced this morning from WWD stating that H&M's profits have declined due to higher price points.

Shopping Diaries: Sephora

I received a gift-card from my cousin to the store at it was the perfect time because the new Hello Kitty line was just launched! I purchased the HK rollerball fragrance and the cream cheek color in Cherry Blossom. Not only are the products great and potent, but the packaging is just as adorable. So much so that I haven't had it in me to throw out the boxes yet. And because it was my birthday, I also received a very nice travel sized bottle of Philosophy's happy birthday beautiful 3-in-1 shower gel. Its smells just like vanilla cake!Sent via BlackBerry from T-Mobile

Shopping Diaries: Bath and Body Works

I am addicted to BBW anti-bac hand sanitizers. Right now they have their new Valentine's Day line. Some of the scents are classics like sweet pea but just have different labels suitable for the day of love, but the line also has scents like candy and strawberry. There are also some scents that are on sale for .37 cents--a deal that can't be passed up!
A new fragrance, "Carried Away" is on its demo run (the lotion was $1) but the full line will be in stores February 7th. Sent via BlackBerry from T-Mobile

Bethenny on My Birthday

Last week on January 20th, me and a couple of my gal pals headed down to Red Bank, New Jersey to check out the lovely loud mouth mogul Bethenny Frankel. The event started out with Skinnygirl Margarita cocktails in the lounge area, and then around 8:30pm she hit the stage for a fun-filled couple of hours. She gabbed about the "Real Housewives of New York," her new upcoming show "Bethenny Ever After," and also chatted about her two books. She also revealed that her new book that will be released soon, "A Place of Yes," will be about how she made it to where she is today-- a secure place filled with a great career as well as love and family. She also informed the audience that Skinnygirl's next drink will be a sangria. Yum!
And for the record, yes Jason was there, and so was Cookie (who made an appearance on stage) with Bethenny's assistant Julie. As for Max well, to paraphrase Bethenny best, "It seemed as though he wanted to be an actor more than he wanted to be an assistant." And on where she and former reality-tv co-star Kelly stand? "Who gives a **** about Kelly."

Movie Review: "The Dilemma"

Let me start by saying that anyone in their right mind would jump at the chance to see a movie starring not one, but two funny guys.  When I received the invite to watch an advanced screening of The Dilemma with Vince Vaugn and Kevin James, I made sure that my calendar was clear so I could go.  With that said, I wish I had left the theater with that same enthusiasm.  The screening was a very rough cut, but the story line was clear and in some ways incomplete.  I won't ruin that plot for you, however I that changes were made after the viewer surveys were submitted.  And I must clarify that there were some great parts, but they were far and few and in between.  But here's a bonus, the movie also features Wnona Ryder, Queen Latifah, Channing Tatum and Jennifer Connelly.  ★★

Books: "True Whit" by Whitney Port

Next month, MTV's The Hills and The City darling will be releasing her first book.  It's for the 20-something girl who's going out on her own and needs some tips to get by.  One tip that I followed was to get a cute glass jar or short vase, leave it on my nightstand, and drop my jewelry into it at the end of the day when I'm to tired to actually put it away in its proper place.  She also shares some hors d'oeuvres recipes for an apartment party, and how to perform side-by-side with not so likable people in the workplace.  What's refreshing about this book is that reality-tv star and fashion designer doesn't hold back on much and names names, showing the true Whit indeed.

Hot Flash: Tia Mowry Hardict is Expecting

On Monday when Tia was on The Wendy Williams Show, she was asked if she and Cory were receiving any pressure to have children.  She replied that the couple were experiencing pressure, but didn't elaborate any further.  But last night (just one day later) fellow cast-mate Hosea Chanchez tweeted "Our baby is expected a baby..." and now it's confirmed that The Game star and husband Cory Hardict are expecting. Congrats to both on their new bundle-of-joy-to-be!

TV: The Game

The season premiere of The Game definitely took its viewers on a ride last night.  Tasha and her new young boo, Malik's fame affecting his ego, Kelly and her reality show, Jason and his wisecracking antics, and Derwin and Melanie's genetic drama.  It was great to see everyone back together, but it was difficult to grasp the new changes; a new Brit Brat, Derwin and Melanie's new apartment, Kelly's new hair and attitude.  And there is one person, just one person who needs to come back and revive their role, Rick Fox as Rick. Fox.  All-in-all the ending was a great cliffhanger and the writers did a great job with pulling people back in.  Can't wait to see what the rest of the season holds!

P.S.

Here's a picture of cupcakes I made last night for a gathering I attempted to attend last night.  But due to the snow storm obscuring my vision on the road, I was unable to share this treats with my fellow TG friends.

Rihanna's Reb'l Fleur

I got a chance to test Rihanna's new fragrance and the verdict is in--i like it.! From the ads of her holding a rose and the title having the word "flower" in it, I expected the perfume to smell more floral.  Instead it's a bit more spicy and something you would expect a mature woman (or man, no judgement) to wear.  I'm a person who wears her perfumes according to season, so in my opinion this is certainly a winter fragrance.

Movie Review: "Rabbit Hole"

Starring Nicole Kidman, this movie tells the tale of a married couple who are trying to live their lives as they mourn the loss of their young son.  Aaron Eckhart plays her husband, and while they struggle together, they never seem to be on the same page: he wants them to join a therapy group together, but she'd rather stay at home, she wants to sell their house, but he'd rather hold on to the memories.  All the while, Kidman's sister becomes pregnant and she has to find a way to deal with the new family addition.

Kidman also develops a friendship with the person who took her son's life and seems to share more intimate moments with him than with her own husband, which then causes a stir in her marriage.

This movie has real moments that can easily break the hearts of parents and non-parents alike.  Kidman does a fabulous job in the film and shows a wide range of emotions.

In an interview, she said that she had tried to get the ball rolling on the film for some time, but then backed away once she became pregnant with her daughter Sunday Rose because she didn't want her character's life to in any way jinx her own.  Thankfully she went back to the film and the rest is history.  ★☆

TV: All of Our Guilty Pleasures Are Back

Let's start with the queen of Fabulosity, Kimora: Life in the Fab Lane.  Sunday marked the season premiere of her new season, and it was a great start.  Little miss Aoki Lee celebrated her 8th birthday with a CHANEL themed party.  The birthday celebration also hosted a fashion show that included the birthday's girl's friends and two young girls from the Make A Wish Foundation who always dreamed of being runway models.  It was a heartwarming episode, but not without some comedy from the latest addition to the clan, baby Kenzo.

On Monday, not one, but two shows returned. The Wendy Williams Show came back with new episodes after being on hiatus during the holidays, and the new season of the Bad Girls Club debuted on Oxygen.  Wendy started her return strong, but also left a question in the air.  Her e-mail update and episode info showed that Real Housewife of Beverly Hills star Camille Grammer was supposed to appear.  Camille was supposed to go on the talk-show and set the record straight about her separation/divorce from actor Kelsey Grammer.  But Camille was a no show.  Maybe she wasn't ready to face the fire, or maybe it was too heartbreaking for her to be featured on the same episode as the cast of The Game. Why would the latter affect her you ask?  Well, because Kelsey is actually the executive producer of the revived show, and it's possible that the encounter would hit too close to home with the reality-tv star.  Then again, Brittany Daniel (the blonde on The Game who plays Kelly) wasn't there with her cast either.  Maybe it was no blondes allowed day on Wendy's show (lol).

BGC6 premiere can be summed up in one word--messy.  Here's a quick re-cap of how the new season began: one girl (who is a bit to manly looking for my taste) said "bro" one too many times, and played pranks just as much; one girl from chicago was a little too wild a little too fast; another chick got way too drunk and couldn't take the pressure of the show, so she left; and a country gal was literally thrown to floor on the first night--but couldn't recall it happening the next day.  MESSY!

And again, the revival of The Game is back and on BET.  I've been keeping myself in the dark about the new plot line from the show.  But from what I've heard--the game is definitely on!
