Sundance Channel's "Love Lust..." Documentaries

One evening I was tired and there was nothing on regular television, so I checked the Sundance channel's OnDemand section and came across a list of documentaries titled "Love Lust..."  There were a handful to choose from, but I decided to watch "Love Lust & The Little Black Dress."  I became interested in the doc because it chronicled the history of the LBD.  Some days later I watched "Love Lust & Heels" along with "Love Lust & Make-Up."

These docs are fun and informative because they trace the beginnings of a fashion staple, how it affected (and affects) people, and how it has transcended over the years.  And when I say that the "Love Lust..." shows give you history lessons--they give you history lessons.  If my teachers and professors passed on information the way these docs do, I would've paid more attention during history class.

In the clip above from "Love Lust & Heels," you can see how high-heeled shoes made an impact during the early 2000s through the show "Sex and the City."

Hot Flash: Nickelodeon's 90's Nites

Incase you've been under a rock--or working like normal people should be--then you've probably missed the latest news that Nickelodeon's Nick-at-Nite will be resurrecting some of its best shows from the 90's.  This includes "Pete and Pete," "Clarissa Explains it All," "The Amanda Bynes Show," and "All That."  The 2-hour block of shows won't be back until the fall, but that gives fans enough to time to break out their polka-dot leggings, neon scrunchies, dancing tattoos and bathtub rainwear. Oh snap!

ooh vs. eww: Tyra's Natural Do

I think Tyra looks great with the natural curls, so I give her a definite ooh la la.  What's your take on it?  Do you like her natural do (ooh la la)? Or do you think she should stick with the weaves, wigs, and everything in between (eww la la)?

H.C.G.I.-Don Draper

I am fully aware that Don Draper on 'Mad Men' is only a character-but he's a good one. With his tailored suits, cigarettes, and liquor all mixed with lies and charm; he's definitely one to swoon over. Unlike Roger, Don isn't much of a talker, but you would waste your time just to hang around and wait to hear his chalky voice. You know he smells good, you know he would take care of you, and although he's a bit disturbed, you know you would do anything just to spend a moment in his presence.

Watch this video so you can find out exactly what I'm talking about.... oh Don, see you on Sunday night.

ps.
I would never act this way with a married man in real life...that I know. lol.

Project Runway-THE Fashion Show is Back

I-CAN'T-WAIT-FOR-THIS-TO-STARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRT!!

Rachel Zoe for QVC

Ok, so I love, Love, LOVE me some QVC!!! Between the Mally Beauty, MJ merchandise, Bare Minerals products-QVC ranks at the top of the TV shopping experience. And now the channel will only be getting better with the new RZ accessory line.

Bringing into fruition what was only an idea on her first season of her Bravo show, the line will include all that is Zoe, sunglasses, scarves, jewelry and handbags. On the Cut, Rachel stated that, "I think [every woman] should have a selection of basic jewelry. You know, a great, like, statement necklace, a great pair of earrings, a big ring."

Well, I'll definitely be making a "statement" when the line hits the 3-lettered shopping channel.

And don't forget, the new season of the Rachel Zoe Project begins Monday, August 24th @10pm on Bravo!

Lady Makes Her Bubbies Go Gaga

I saw LG as a "Trending Topic" on twitter and decided to check out what the buzz was all about. After skimming some tweets I saw the words "breasts", "nipples" and "fire". Finally I found a link and the chatter was about her Much Music Awards performance. Let's just say things start to heat up around 5:00.

M.I.A. is now a M.O.M. yay

so M.I.A. is supposed to perform at the upcoming Oscars, but according to E! News

M.I.A.'s performance [...] (she's a nominee for her collaboration on "O, Saya") [Slumdog Millionaire] remains up in the air. It was reported earlier today that the rapper gave birth sometime this week after performing at the Grammys this past Sunday on her actual due date.
[...]"she's eager to perform…We've said things like, 'We're willing to have her enter on a large bed. We'll make it as easy for her as we can." (FYI: Sources also tell me the baby is definitely here; M.I.A.'s rep did not comment.)

guess we'll just have to see if she shows up, and if so what craziness she'll be wearing.  knowing her--she'll be there *fingers crossed*

back it up... your laptop

so my friend Antwon sent me a text asking to borrow my Apple software. anyway he informed me that he had to take his PowerBook for repairs and he didn't back up any of his stuff. sooooooo it totally reminded me of the 'Sex and the City' episode. my fav part is when Carrie makes a face @1:51 when the guy makes a remark about not being "compatible". foreshadow much?

Femi x Kayla = damn shame

Femi from 'Bromance' and Kayla from 'Bad Girls Club', you two just need to get together and go away--seriously!! i don't know if you two have some stress that needs to be relieved or what. but you both have what the other one needs in order to handle it fully. however, please use a rubber. the last thing we need are more black people making us look bad on television. k? k. thanks.

L.C. and Heidi hug it out

isn't this pic so sweet? it was probably taken before Spencer came along.. but we definitely know it's before the nose and boob job. ANYWAYS, Lauren was at STK in L.A. for her fashion show after-party and Heidi was there with bf in tow. however she took the initiative to congratulate her former bff and the two were "crying and hugging" in the corner.

this is a really good sign of Heidi breaking away from Spencer's clutches. but i doubt those two will break up. all in all i hope the girls will be able to work things out because nothing is worse that losing a friend.

apparently the 'Hills' cameras weren't on for this reunion, but maybe a re-enactment is in the works.

"hip-hop meets the Muppets"

kanYe West and Rhymefest are going to co-executive produce a puppet show for Comedy Central.

Billboard magazine said a pilot episode had already been filmed, and featured new music from the Grammy-winning star.
West was also the host but, if the show is commissioned, it will have a new presenter each week - like the Muppets.
Producers on the program, which has the working title Alligator Boots, include South Park writer Jon Kimmel.
