Top 10 MTV VMA 2011 Moments

1. Lady Gaga as her alter ego Joe Calderone; I admire her for not breaking character.

2. Queen guitarist Brian May accompanying Gaga during "You and I."

3. Jay-Z & Kanye West performing "Otis."  I especially loved Kanye's denim ombre button down.

4. Russell Brand.  'Nuff said.

5. Adele's look and voice.  I liked catching little bits of her singing along to other performers' songs.

6. Justin Bieber's YSL pin.

7. Chris Brown's performance.  AH-MAZE!  And I peeped that MJ stomp. :)

8. The Britney Spears tribute.  It was a bit short for my liking, and I couldn't understand why she was praising someone else during her acceptance speech.  But still, it was a well deserved tribute.  Would've been superb if she gave Joe a little peck on the lips.  LOL.

9. Beyonce rubbing her baby bump at the end of her "Love on Top" performance.

10. The Amy Winehouse tribute.  Bruno Mars did a great job with singing "Valerie."

Books: "True Whit" by Whitney Port

Next month, MTV's The Hills and The City darling will be releasing her first book.  It's for the 20-something girl who's going out on her own and needs some tips to get by.  One tip that I followed was to get a cute glass jar or short vase, leave it on my nightstand, and drop my jewelry into it at the end of the day when I'm to tired to actually put it away in its proper place.  She also shares some hors d'oeuvres recipes for an apartment party, and how to perform side-by-side with not so likable people in the workplace.  What's refreshing about this book is that reality-tv star and fashion designer doesn't hold back on much and names names, showing the true Whit indeed.

i'm on team Super Cr3w pt.3

i've been saying it for weeks. and it still remains. SUPER CR3W!!! the finals are this thursday and i've voted for them numerous times. in this specific performance they had to incorporate global dances from Africa, Jamaica,Brazil and more. it would've been a doper competition if they were up against Fanny Pack (SoReal Cru? eh). but don't sleep--still vote for Super Cr3w.

hey mr. Carter

so i finally listened to the whole Lil Wayne cd ( i couldn't get past 'mr. Carter" ft. Jay-Z) and here is my opinion on it. he definitely starts off hard for the first group of songs. from "3 peat" to the end of "comfortable" ft. Babyface i was giving the gorilla face and howling "oooh wee". sadly i got lost on "phone home" which the title of course just says ET. "tie my hands" with Robin Thicke does pull me in for a moment because he's talking about New Orleans and its trials. but i'm gone again on "Mrs. Officer" with Bobby Valentino--not good. however Dwayne begins to build back up with "let the beat build" and the cd is pretty doable until the end. and as for "lollipop", as much as i cringe whenever i hear that song on the radio it did find myself bobbing to... so it's all good.

let me say this much, Lil Wayne has definitely surprised me--thank God. you should go get this album and add to the 1 million plus sales that Weezy has acquired in a week.

Whitney gets spinoff show

US Weekly is reporting that Whitney Port will be recieving her own show starting in the fall. she will be bi-coastal due to her job with fashion pr firm People's Revolution. Whitney will be making some new friends and hanging out with some socialites. i think this will be a good move and i'd watch this any day over the scary Speidi couple.

ooh vs. eww: Greg, the Real World Hollywood

am i the only one who finds this boy annoying as hell??!! i should be slapped for even watching TRW but i've been on it since season one so forgive me. but in just about every episode for the past few weeks the "chosen one" has gotten into a problem with everyone of the house mates. are the people who voted him into the show now regreting their choice? i truly hope so because this lying, pranking, panties thief is so wack. so my fellow Real World watchers, i ask... ooh la la or eww la la?

the Hills x Rolling Stone

ok so i came across this cover yesterday at Hudson News in Penn Station. as much as i wanted to buy the mag to check out its contents, something about it just bothered me. i don't know if its Heidi, or the pose, i honestly have no clue what it is-- but i'm not feeling this. and the worst part is, I LOVE THE HILLS!

ms.rea on Mtv

in february some of you knew that i went to the NY Couture fashion show for fashion week with my two friends Danielle and Antwon. when we were in line there were camera crews and photographers and inside there was a blocked off vip section with velvet ropes... just the normal things you'd expect from a fashion show taking place in club Rebel... or not lol. nevertheless, i was home due to a cold this past weekend and Mtv's True Life was on. i decided to give it a go since i love the series and will watch anything that deals with fashion. about ten minutes into the episode i recognized the designer of the NYC line and then it hit me--it was Mtv who was doing the filming and flick taking. i sat patiently waiting for any sign of myself or my friends and then about two minutes before the show was ending i saw the side of my face and Danielle looking over to her side (damn i knew i should've stayed against that pillar lol). a few days later the episode was on the Mtv site and now it's here for you all to watch.  start looking for us around -1:50 (you can just drag the thingie across so there's no waiting for it to load yay).  you'll see me in line briefly AND I SWEAR that's my giggle when they pan down the line, and then you'll see the three of us briefly waiting for the show to begin.

if you'd like to see the pix i took from the show on MySpace then click here

ps... i always knew i'd be on Mtv one day ;)
