Movie Review: "The Fighter"

In October I had a great opportunity to view a screening of "The Fighter" starring Mark Wahlberg and Christian Bale. I could easily go into a deep analysis about the movie that is set in the 1980s and based on the true story of two brothers who live, eat and breathe boxing. But I will just get straight to the point---this movie is AMAZING. Bale's acting in this movie is superb, and may I say, more so than Wahlberg's. There are moments in this film when you will laugh and possibly get a bit emotional. But overall you will be rooting for the brothers to band together. ♥♥♥♥♥

Thrift Store Find: Cozy Cardigan & Kelly Clarkson CD

I have been a huge fan of thrift stores lately--especially the Unique chain of stores.  I've also been on a huge Denise Huxtable kick of great old school chunky sweaters.  So I was delighted to find this sweater ( about $2.50) that I know Denise would've loved.  What's fun about this sweater is the interior colors of red and turquoise along with the awesome 3/4 sleeve that just wants to be pushed up on the arms to create a great poof effect.

I also snagged Kelly Clarkson's first CD, "Breakaway," which contains all of her memorable hits for a little less than $2.

New Fav Music Vid: "Give a Little More" Maroon 5

This song and video are so sexy and cool... and it makes perfect sense since the group's lead singer, Adam Levine, is just the same way.

My new iPod 4g

So I finally upgraded from my iPod video to an iTouch I felt that I could be satisfied with for years to come. Although I'm still getting used to the concept of a touch screen, I must say this purchase was a very good investment. I bought the 64gb because I know that for the next few years I will need the extra space for more music, pictures, videos and my new addiction -APPS!

You can be sure that I will be downloading and reviewing apps to let you know which ones are my faves, and which ones I can do without. At the moment my top pics are:
(It's comforting to know that I can just lay in bed and add or repost items that didn't sell with just a few touches. Free)
2. H&M
(This app keeps you up to date with new items and you can also make a convenient wish list and receive exclusive discounts. Free)
(This takes all the guess work out of trying to figure out what to wear for current weather conditions in your area. Free)
(A super cute and fun camera feature that allows you to have Sanrio style graphics on your pictures, $2.99)
(I'm yelling when I play this game! You control the riders and try to keep them from falling off the coaster. Free)

I have so many more apps, but I will post them individually to let you know how they are. So yes, "ooh vs. eww" will be back!

'Rolling Stone' goes 'Mad'

Here's the latest issue of Rolling Stone magazine featuring Jon Hamm and the leading ladies of "Mad Men."  If you don't watch this show, please round up the previous seasons on DVD and get yourself up to date on the first cable drama in history to ever receive the Emmy for best TV drama three years in a row.  Tell them ms.rea sent you.

Reminisce: Michael Jackson "Who Is It?"

Although there's another version of this video, this is the version I grew up seeing. I love how it shows his best moves from the "Thriller" years through the "Dangerous" era. It was popular in the 90s to have artists come out with a music video that was a mash-up of all their previous ones. However, this one is definitely the best one.

Enjoy!

Apple does it again

Apple.com
Just when you thought it was safe, Apple revs up a new set of iPods along with adding new features to iTunes and Apple TV.
The new iPod Touch now has the same features as the most recently released iPhone, except for the obvious that it can't make phone calls.  But I'm sure an app will arise that will allow some sort of phone calling.  Guess we'll have to wait and see.
Apple.com
There's also a new and dare I say CUTE iPod nano.  It also has a touch screen feature which will be great for petite fingers, but I can see it being an issue for someone with not so delicate hands.

iTunes also got a face change, literally.  When you download the new application which allows you to "follow artists," the icon on your computer will change from a CD to a music note in a blue circle.  I honestly wasn't ready for the change, but... tis life.

If you want to read the full details on all of the changes, you can visit the Apple site.

Inter-n-esting

Today I started my stint as a fashion intern, and I must say it is not a cake walk.  Yes, the clothes are fabulous and you get to to touch items that you will probably never see in your own closet, and yes there is also a lot of b**** work.

But I am learning to swallow my pride and to take in each moment as a learning block.
I also discovered that there is a lot of effort put into creating pictures that people only glance at for a minute.
The fashion industry is an underrated one where most people only get to see the final product and don't necessarily appreciate what goes on behind the scenes (let's just say my feet are not happy right now).  However, it's an industry that has it's perks, and I'm sure the people behind the scenes feel some sort of high when all of their time pays off.

 P.S.
If I were asked what my favorite part of today was, it would be catching glimpses of the dozens of pairs of sparkly red bottoms and Choos!!

(A "ms.rea wore what?" update will be on its way soon!)
